One the tube, there are signs everywhere reminding people not to fall in between the subway and the platform (apparently quite a difficult thing for most, stepping 4 inches onto a subway). They list the number of accidents, injuries, deaths. I though it was worth documenting. We endeavored to the V & A museum, and it was brilliant. It was incredible how they used their displays, such modern artwork in such a classical historical building: amazing. My favorite: the crushed, hanging trumpets and trombones. Every exhibit was so innovative and inspiring and addicting. After about 3 1/2 hours I had had my fill. We meandered through town, stopping at the City Hall designed by Norman Foster, it was wonderful. We journeyed over the London Bridge, saw some spectacular views, and admired our newly purchased rings. Next stop: Tate Modern. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed. That's why we only secretly took about 3. It was very similar to the Pompidu in Paris, about 75% awe inspiring artwork, 25% nonsense. We explored for a bit, and then headed off to the grocery store to stock up. For anyone who has carried groceries on the tube: it is an experience. As is buying foreign foods (for 6 eggs, it is about $8.00). When we returned home, we realized it was going to be a trial and error process. Being in London, it is almost required of you to see Harry Potter. This being the case, I forced everyone into drawing Harry Potter scars on their foreheads with eyeliner (except Ashlee, she refused all bribes and/or forcefull actions). Unfortunately, I drew on mine and Ali's before googling what the actual scar looked like. Brady used Ashlee's credit card to buy tickets online at theatre in Leicester Square, an urban, young part of London. We arrived at the theatre, waited in the Q line for forEVEr, and were then informed that Brady had bought our tickets at Leicester Square... in another part of the world. A few kind words were uttered, and after attempting but failing to get our money back, we bought our second pair of Harry Potter tickets. The ticket lady felt sorry for us and Brady's "it's an easy mistake to make guys, any of you would have done the exact same thing!" so she hooked us up with perfect seats last minute. The movie was incredible, exceeded all my expectations. I removed my handmade 'arry Potter scar, and exited the theatre only to find the most perfect ending to the night:
Then, as we were all getting in bed: the fire alarm. Kaitlyn was in the shower at this time, and had to promptly exit the building in her towel. I laughed the entire time.
